APCO & TETRA System

A Reliable and Secure Communication Solution for Public Safety

APCO System

Project 25 (P25), also known as APCO-25, is a suite of digital radio communication standards developed for public safety organizations. It replaces traditional analog UHF radios by enabling both voice and data transmission, including features like encryption and text messaging. Widely used by police, fire, ambulance, and emergency services, P25 ensures secure and reliable communication in critical situations. APCO systems are generally categorized into three types: conventional systems that use fixed channels for direct communication, trunked systems that dynamically allocate channels for better efficiency, and regional or statewide systems that connect multiple agencies across larger areas.

ASTRO radio systems, built on P25 standards and enhanced with broadband capabilities, provide a higher level of communication experience. They ensure reliable and secure connectivity even in extreme conditions, making them essential for effective operations and personnel safety. These systems are designed with multiple layers of resilience to handle service disruptions, offer wide-area coverage for seamless communication, and provide flexibility through a software-defined architecture that can scale from a single site to a statewide network. Additionally, ASTRO systems are supported by end-to-end services, from initial design to ongoing maintenance, ensuring consistent performance and long-term reliability.

TETRA System

TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) represents a globally recognized standard for digital two-way radio systems designed for secure, reliable, and mission-critical communication. Originally developed under the framework of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute, TETRA has been widely adopted across public safety, transportation, utilities, and industrial sectors. TETRA radios serve as advanced digital communication systems, offering capabilities such as secure voice, data transmission, encryption, and messaging services. These systems are extensively used by dispatch-based organizations including police, fire services, emergency response teams, railways, metros, and airport operations. They are deployed through handheld devices, vehicle-mounted radios, base stations, and repeaters. TETRA systems can be configured as single-site, multi-site, or wide-area trunked networks, providing flexibility to meet diverse operational requirements.

TETRA radio systems, on the other hand, provide a robust and scalable communication platform designed for mission-critical environments. They ensure seamless integration of voice and data services, enabling continuous and efficient communication even in high-density and demanding scenarios. With a strong focus on security, capacity, coverage, and operational control, these systems support real-time coordination and decision-making. Their ability to deliver reliable performance, efficient spectrum utilization, and network resilience makes them essential for effective operations and personnel safety, whether managing critical infrastructure or responding to emergency situations.
